Debbie’s Story:

My weight gain started in college and never stopped.  I have terrible eating habits that I just can’t seem to change.  I buy the right foods, but they rot before I eat them, meanwhile I eat all the junk foods in the cupboard.

The excess weight has had a huge impact on my life.  I have two kids that often ask me to go out an play ball or do other activities, and I find that the heavier I become, the more excuses I find for not playing with them.  Even bending over to tie my shoes is a stress.   I even get breathless just walking short distances.

I can’t wait to fit in an airline seat, or movie seat without feeling like I am squished into them.  I don’t want my kids to be embarrassed about me, and I want to feel good about myself.  I want my life back for myself and for my kids.

    Well, ok so I skipped last week. I spent 3 days at the Gaylord Palms for a convention and although I watched what I ate, I ate more than I should. I don’t advocate skipping a weigh in, but I did it! So I made an appointment for today and guess what…
    I lost a pound!! I now have 2.4lbs to get to my goal weight!! Only problem is I am also going on vacation to Palm Beach this weekend. I really need to watch my input and I plan to get a lot of excersize on the beach, in the water and in the weight room, so hopefully I will do well. Good luck to the rest of you.     whooo hooo. Last week I was down 4lbs and this week another 1.4lbs. I have 3.4 left to reach goal…. or I am just stopping here.

    Well I weighed in this week. Between my son’s World Series Games in GA and life getting in the way, I missed a week. With all that was said above, it is also no woner that I gained since the last time I was here. I could have gained a whole lot more if I didn’t have this program in my brain, which kept me pretty much on track. Probably didn’t drink enough water and then one week I didn’t have any meds. It is all good. I have been running almost every day, which is up from once every week if I was lucky. I plan to go to Life Styles here any day to join for my free month. I have actually always been a very fit girl, but it was covered by mounds of fat!! NO MORE!
    I think the best part about this is how I have inspired others. Football season just started at CJC and so many of the parents have commented to me on my weight loss. I have been an action photographer on the fields for the past several years, so I am very visible. Many people actually don’t even recognize me. They always ask HOW and I am so proud do say because of Dr. Lara and his staff. You have given the best gift of life to me and I can never thank you enough. Hope to get back on track this week and shed those 4lbs and then another 4 to finally reach my goal. Good luck to the others also.

    Debbie, what can I say……you should be sooooo proud of yourself. So much youve done, besides the weight. But w/o that who knows what you would be doing. Still stuck in the same “old” way of thinking. “I wish I could….I wish I would…..If only…..”….well sister youve come full circle…and baby look atcha now……

    Well, I had my 1 year check up. My cholesterol is down to 154, my good HDL is at 60 and bad LDL is down to 81. I still can’t loose the last 5lbs, so I might stay at 165 and be done with it. 90lbs is nothing to sneeze at!! I am down 7 dress sizes from a 22 to a 10, so I’m thinking I have done quite well!! Thank you Dr Lara again for such an amazing gift. I feel so wonderful and promise to keep it off!!!

    I just want to say thank you. You are an insperation, through your up’s and downs. I know with this week and Billy’s games it was tough, but I know you will get back on track.
    As life passes and we get busier and buiser dont forget to take time for you.
    After all it’s due to the years we’ve neglected our selves and put everyone before us. not taking care of ourselves inside and out.. Much Love… Connie

    How does the time just slip away between bloggs. I was determined to get this one done. I had a great week last week by almost loosing 3 lbs, but then I went to Key West for a long weekend and gained 2 back. I am sure this week will be better. Actually, next week will be my 1 year anniversary with Weight Away Tampa Bay. I can’t believe it has been a year and I am still thin!!! If I could just loose my last 5lbs I’d be done. Again, I am hopeful that I can stick to the plan and will at least loose the 2 I gained in the Keys. Rum Runners are just tooo fatening!!
    I hope all you other gals are doing well on your plan. Keep up the good work.

    Well I still have my last 5lbs to go. The only good thing I can say is technically i am staying at the same weight for quite some time. I say it is a good thing, because the longer my body is use to being this weight, I hope I will stay this weight from here on out. I feel great, look good finally in clothes and love the energy I have. Thanks Dr. Lara and staff for giving me my health and good life. Happy Memorial Day.

    I am soooo sorry, I have not logged in, in a while. I have been increadibly busy. I even missed weigh in last week because I had to travel. I hope to get there this week, because I am determined to stick to the program to the end. I had a rough weekend sticking to the plan though. I went to a birthday party and I just could not refuse the potato salad. I did eat only a hot dog with no bun though. Take a little good with the bad! I did loose the last weigh in, after gaining for 2 weeks in a row. I really MUST stick to this. It is such a gift I have been given, I refuse to let me old eating habbits take hold of me again. I am walking/running more than I ever have so that makes me feel good. I hope everyone else is doing well. See you very soon. I promise!!
