Debbie’s Story:
My weight gain started in college and never stopped. I have terrible eating habits that I just can’t seem to change. I buy the right foods, but they rot before I eat them, meanwhile I eat all the junk foods in the cupboard.
The excess weight has had a huge impact on my life. I have two kids that often ask me to go out an play ball or do other activities, and I find that the heavier I become, the more excuses I find for not playing with them. Even bending over to tie my shoes is a stress. I even get breathless just walking short distances.
I can’t wait to fit in an airline seat, or movie seat without feeling like I am squished into them. I don’t want my kids to be embarrassed about me, and I want to feel good about myself. I want my life back for myself and for my kids.
A Very Excited (and successful) Debbie
Congratulations to Debbie and great job! She lost over 30 lbs in six weeks!
A giant step on the road to good health!
Six months and look at the results! Debbie looks and feels fantastic and is actually very close to her goal weight. See her post – she never thought it would be possible. We all need to continue to support and encourage and she begins to think about transitioning into her new lifestyle!

I finally went shopping Monday to find some new clothes. I decided to hit the thrift shops, because I probably will not be wearing these clothes for very long. I found several pairs of pants that I thought looked a bit small for me, but bought them any way, for the future. Well last night I was putting them away and thought, just try them on and see how much I need to loose to fit into them. Well I was shocked to find that 2 of the 3 pairs actually fit me NOW! They are size 14’s, which is 4 sizes smaller than where I started. I guess I will have to go shopping again for some 12’s. If anyone knows of any good thrift shops, please share. I visited the new Goodwill on Tampa Rd in Oldsmar and it is wonderful. Pretty good quality clothes at wonderful prices. As long as we only stay in a size for a month or two, it does not make sense to pay full retail.
Today marks that I have lost 70 lbs. Whoooo Hoooo.
I have a new realization now that I have lost so much weight. I am no longer one of the Hot people, I am now one of the skinny Cold people! I have to carry a sweater everywhere I go.
The apples and cheese was so much fun last night. It was so good to see the other women, although we all missed seeing Jesse. You all looked so good and it was fun sharing stories of how it has gone. Keep up the great work everyone. Can’t wait to go to the next meeting in November to hear of even more success. Have a great Halloween and pass out water. Kids get thirsty walking all that way.
I’m so glad to hear that you are doing so well! It feels great doesn’t it? We are so fortunate to have this opportunity! I’m glad to hear that you had a great visit with your parents. It feels good when you have family and friends that are proud of your accomplishments. Keep up the good work! I hope to see you Wednesday night!!
So far I have only had, what I consider one bad week. My bad week was not losing more than 2 pounds. This past week marks my 4 month anniversary being on the plan and I lost 4.1lbs bringing my total to 66 pounds. My parents are here this weekend and they are amazed at how great I look. I have so much more energy and do so much more than I was able to do before. I even wore a suite to the beach this weekend, which is a first in many years. I am enjoying my life so much more now and thank God for the opportunity I have been given to get my life back. Dr. Lara’s staff and Debbie Lane have helped me so much on this journey. Only 23 more pounds to go. I might be able to reach my goal in less than 6 month! Amazing.
I had another successful week with another loss of 4.7. I have finally gotten under 200 lbs and have lost over 60lbs in less than 4 months. I am so excited!!
Not sure what to do with all the skin flapping here and there. Maybe once we reach our goal, Dr. Lara will get together with one of his plastic surgeons, so we can get rid of the excess skin!! That is my vote. Funny, I use to dream about Lypo before, but now I don’t need it, I just need to get rid of the skin.
My goals are to reach 80 pounds by Thanksgiving and maybe to loose 90 by the end of the year. That will leave my new years resolution to loose 10 lbs for the newyear. Not sure how thin I will look by that point. The problem is, I have never been that thin in my adult life. We shall see. I just love the compliments from friends that have not seen me for a while. Parents come in town next week and I can’t wait to see their reaction.
Hope the other ladies are doing well. I miss reading about their success. I hope we will all go to the fruit and cheese gathering at the end of the month. Hope to see you all there.
Well I have reason to celebrate. I am finally under 200 pounds. I am also over 1/2 to my goal, but I have a feeling this will be the beginning of the hard part. I hope not. I feel great and have so much more energy. I also finally tried the powered peanut butter and it actually is not bad. Hope everyone is doing well and feeling great also.
Well another good week for me. Had a hard time getting the water in on Sunday because I was painting the rest of my son’s room and lost track of time. Picked up again on Monday though. So my son wants to plan a pizza party for me when I am done! How do you explain to a 13 year old that I won’t be eating pizza again? Is that even a reality, or will there be a day we can eat a slim slice once in a while? I just don’t know.
Hope all are doing well this week. Keep up the great work.
Congratulations on your success Debbie! What a wonderful journey you have taken. I affirm for you that you will be totally successful in keeping off the weight you have released! You are a role model. Blessings and love, Rev Liv
Well I redeemed myself this week and made it to my 50 lbs mark. I hope last week was just a glitch in the system. I must say that traveling while drinking all that water is a real bummer. I added a 1/2 hour of my drive time because I had to stop 3 times on the way home. No sooner than I get on the road, then it feels like I have to go again. Some co-workers have joked that I need to put my desk in the restroom because I am beating down a path in the carpet. Anyway, it is all good as long as I keep loosing.
