Sue – 261 lbs
Sue is a Breast Cancer survivor, and now has diabetes and arthritis. She knows that weight loss will help her reduce or eliminate the medications she takes, and will also reduce the risk of the breast cancer returning.
“My excess weight has been a burden both physically and mentally. I have three beautiful grandchildren and I want to be able to sit down on the floor and play games with them, but I can’t. I want to be able to go outside and run around with them and take walks. When I walk up stairs, or even from the car to the mall, I can’t breathe. I have to stop and relax before I can do anything. My back and legs hurt all the time because of the weight I am carrying around.”
“I want to be able to take care of my aging mother, who is requiring more and more from me physically. I want to play with my grandchildren and travel with my husband. I need to be around for all the precious people in my life, and if I don’t make some life changes, I may not even be around to watch my grandchildren grow up.”

On my 12th weigh-in I shed 5.6 lbs. I was a little discouraged last week after gaining one pound but got back on tract this week with the encouragement of the staff at Dr. Lara’s office. My total is now 39.2 lbs. I would have never been able to do that without the Dr. Lara’s program. I haven’t felt this good for so long. I went into the clothes closet today and got two pair of 18 capri pants and tried them on at work and they FIT!!!! Now down to a 16 and on to a 10. I haven’t been in a 10 for so long I can’t even remember, in fact, I haven’t been in an 18 for so long I don’t even have any in my closet to wear. Sounds like a shopping trip coming up (smile). A friend told me to go to Bealls Outlet, good prices. If anyone has any ideas of other places, please let me know. Thanks and good luck to everyone with your weigh-in this week.
Keep up the great work. Your next goal is soooo obtainable. Just stick to the plan. You should be so proud of how you have done so far. Long goals are a great idea, but also small ones. Maybe a longer walk or more sit ups. What ever it is, know you have it in you to make the goal you have set for yourself. You have a lot of great support behind you and you will succeed! All the best from one that has been thru it.
Went for my 9th weigh-in and shed another 2 lbs for a total of 29.8. My next big goal is to reach another 30 lbs before the end of July. I have a reunion to go to in Colorado and would really love to go back with another 30 lbs gone. Thank you, Dr. Lara for this wonderful opportunity. I feel so much better and more healthy than I have in years. I owe it all to you.
YOU CAN DO IT!!!!! YOU WILL DO IT BY THE END OF JULY!!!! I’m so proud of you… I BET YOU FEEL GREAT!!!!!!

Hey Sue…. SO VERY PROUD OF YOU!!!! You are doing awesome!!!!! AND YES… you WILL be down another size in NO TIME!!!!! Keep up the good work!!!! You CAN do this!!!!!!
Went for my weigh-in today and shed 5.2 lbs. I am thrilled!!!! I have lost a total of 25.8 lbs so far and have gone down 1 size. Hoping to make that 2 sizes very soon. I am going to take Debbie’s advice and go to Goodwill this weekend and try to find some clothes to hold me over as I shed weight. I’m going to see Debbie for my 2nd session tomorrow night. I loved the first one!!!
I have lost a total of 20.6 lbs in 5 weeks. I am looking forward to being able to do a little exercize after seeing my doctor next week. Maybe the weight “shed” will be better then. I had my first session with Debbie last night and it was sooooo relaxing!
Hey Sue: I am so proud of you!!! You did GREAT THIS WEEK!!!! And… I think you WILL be in a bathing suit this Summer!!!!! It may not be a bikini but it will be one!!!! I will be praying for you this Friday…. I KNOW they will fix the problem…… And the exercising will help!!!! Love you!!!! I think I will come to the cheese & chat too!!!!
Today was my 4th weigh in and I lost another 2.8 lbs for a total of 16.8. I was hoping for more weeks like the first when I lost 9.2 but I guess that is unrealistic to think I can do that every week. I will be so glad to be able to start walking after my tests on Friday. Please keep me in your prayers that they will find the sorce of the internal bleeding and get the anemia under control. I was feeling a little better while on the iron pills but now I had to go off because of the test coming up. Starting to feel pretty tired again. I can’t wait to go “shopping” in the clothes closet at Dr. Lara’s office. I will take your advice, Debbie, and check out Goodwill. I would feel good about helping them too. Things are already getting a little baggy. YEA!!! I don’t think I’ll get into that bathing suit this year but you can bet that next year I’ll be wearing one!!! Hope to see everyone at the cheese and chat on the 21st. Did I get that name right?
Sue, I am so excited for you and how different your life will be in a very short period of time. You will be amazed at how good you feel just after a month. Embrace the change and enjoy buying new clothes. Goodwill was my favorite store to buy inexpensive clothes as I lost my weight so quickly. No sense spending a lot of $$ when you will only wear the clothes for a short time. Anyway, best of luck and enjoy the changes.
